After a successful partnership in 2008 with the Pengrowth Music Series, XMC and it’s CEO Peri Luel have been retained to oversee all commercial initiatives at the RCGA. In addition to his role as CEO at XMC, Peri will provide leadership as a senior team member of the RCGA Executive to redefine the RCGA's commercial structure and strategy.
“Peri brings with him a wealth of expertise in the sports and entertainment industry and will be a valuable addition to our senior management team in driving our strategic commercial and business development efforts moving forward.” Said Scott Simmons, Executive Director at the RCGA.
Luel has been responsible for many golf related initiatives over the past two decades including managing all of the RCGA’s sales activities from 1991-1996. He was also responsible for the creation of the Canadian Skin’s Game while formerly employed by IMG Canada.

XMC Secures Three New Facility Partners for the

After months of detailed negotiations, XMC is pleased to report that three high profile corporations have signed on as multi-year sponsors of Downsview Park. Labatt Breweries of Canada has secured the beer rights to the Park and its events while Coca-Cola has locked up the soft drink, energy and water categories. Finally, Turtle Island is now the official waste management and recycling partner of Downsview Park.

Despite the rain, XMC managed to produce three concerts right on the course without a hitch following play at the RBC Canadian Open. After the last put dropped each day, over 5,000 people let loose to the tunes of Blue Rodeo, 54-40 and Tom Cochrane. Both RBC and Pengrowth, along with the RCGA, were thrilled with the energy that was injected into such a wonderful golf tournament and it appears that the true festivalization of the RBC Canadian Open has begun.

XMC is now working with the RCGA and RBC to create, develop and implement new and exciting events in and around the RBC Canadian Open. Part of the FedEx Cup, stars of the PGA Tour will compete for $5 million (US) at the RBC Canadian Open, July 21-27 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. Established in 1904, the tournament is the third-oldest national open golf championship worldwide next to the British Open and the U.S. Open.
